Personal Greeting
Thank you so much for visiting Koinonia's website. As you will experience upon your first visit in person with us, "WE LOVE GUESTS"! Nothing compares to being here live and experiencing the electricity that is ALWAYS present each time we come together to hear the Word of God preached with clarity, humility, and relativity. We pray that your tour of this website gives some incite to what God is doing in this dynamic arena called Koinonia Church! Whatever you do, DON'T take my word for it....Come see for yourself!!!!
Oh, there are a few things I'd like you to know about me:
- I love and revere God with all of my heart, mind, and soul.
- I have three sons Noah, Luke, and Daniel. (We also have a pitbull named Bruiser whose feelings would be hurt if he were to read this and didn't see his name.)
- God wrapped ethereal beauty, intelligence, spirituality, and humor in flesh, named her Nikki and then gave her my heart on November 11, 2000 when she became my wife.

The Birth of Koinonia
On the night of December 21, 2003, Ronnie Goines had half way completed his final year of graduate school. He and his wife, Nikki, decided that upon graduation he would accept a ministry opportunity / position in either Georgia or North Carolina. On this night, the Holy Spirit began to lead him and confirm through others that he was to start a church in Arlington. After praying with Nikki and counting the cost, they both agreed that this was God’s will.
God lead Ronnie to request a meeting with the senior pastor of North Richland Hills Baptist Church, Dr. Tommy Teague, whom he met while working as an intern at the church. By the end of their meeting, it was clear why God led Ronnie to seek Dr. Teague’s counsel. Dr. Teague encouraged Ronnie by telling him that he could see God doing wonderful things through him. He was also very intentional on telling him the sacrifices that must be made in order to be a Godly pastor! After praying a blessing upon Ronnie and the Koinonia vision, with tears in his eyes Dr. Teague promised his support. Dr. Teague made good on his promise by leading his congregation to officially adopt Koinonia as a mission church.
Upon its inception, the church’s name was Koinonia Baptist Church. Then, it changed to Koinonia Bible Church. In the end, to avoid its name presenting any denominational prejudices or hindrances, the church decided to simply be known as Koinonia Church. Koinonia’s foundation is the Word of God. Its present membership consists of individuals from a myriad of denominational and religious backgrounds including but not limited to Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Jehovah’s Witness, Catholic, and even Atheist. |
